Change in board functionality

Post by carbonatedwit »

Hi everyone!

You can now edit your posts whenever. You'll notice a line recording edits at the bottom of the edited post. Also, admins/mods can see previous versions, but other users should not be able to.

...if you, as a regular user, can see previous versions, please let me know so I can fix0r it!

EDIT: This will be on a trial basis, for the rest of April.

I just saw this on one of my posts and was so excited! Thank you!

EDIT: But I don't see the line recording the edits.

Hey, Rose! At the moment, we're setting it up so that regular users (ugh, that sounds gross. I mean it in a loving and non-exclusive way, I promise) can't see the post history. Is that something you think you'd like?

I'm confused... CW said "You'll notice a line recording edits at the bottom of the edited post. Also, admins/mods can see previous versions" which made it sound like those are two different things. I was thinking the "line recording edits" would be something like what there is on Wikipedia or Dreamwidth, where you can enter a comment explaining what you changed, and that comment is then displayed to all users. But I think at least something like "Edited at [date] [time] by [name]" would be really useful.

The line showing edits only seems to show up if you edit after someone has posted after you in the thread. If you're editing the last post, it doesn't show up at all.

I seem to only see lines recording edits when the edit is by a mod or admin, not when regular users do it.
