Friends of Captain Awkward

I sometimes want to post things that unfortunately require multiple TW's and/or CW's. The character limit on the subject line requires me to get creative, but sometimes it's still challenging to get them all in.

Would others find it useful to have a common abbreviation list for them to make subject lines clearer when they don't all fit?

Maybe something like this?
Abuse= Ab
Ableism = Abl
Suicide = Su
Violence = Vi

Example in a subject line: Fluffy Bunny Problems TW: Ab/Vi

Responding as a mod,

If your post requires a long warning that doesn't fit in the title it would be better to provide a full-word, complete warning at the top of the post. The only time that you are required by the rules to include a tw in the thread title is if your thread contains nazis or white supremacists (rule 3.8 here: http://friendsofcaptainawkward.com/foru ... php#rule3h ) In some cases mods may edit a thread to include a tw in the thread title, but that is for more exceptional cases and is not the basic expectation.

Providing a complete content warning at the top of the first post in your thread, and then using appropriate trigger warnings tags and descriptions will generally be enough. Including tw in your thread titles can be helpful but in most cases is not required, in part because of this difficulty with limited space. If you are unsure if your thread would do better with more warning in the title please feel free to contact a mod by PM and ask us.

Generally, for accessibility, we ask that users do not use abbreviations in their posts. Having a code of abbreviations to understand thread titles would create a difficult, and in some cases insurmountable barrier for many users.
