Hiding topics?

Hi Mod Team,
I'm not very tech-savvy, so I'm not sure if this would be a difficult or impossible thing to add to the site, but on the off-chance that it's something relatively simple, I thought I'd suggest it.
It would be really great to be able to hide topics! I know there's an option to block certain users, but I don't want to do that. Certain topics have content that I don't feel mentally-equipped to deal with, and I would prefer not to see them pop up over and over at the top of the list. Sometimes I read them forgetting what people wrote inside (and not all topics have titles that make the content clear). Sometimes I just don't want to feel tempted to read things that I know will upset me.
Anyway, as I said, this may be a complicated programming thing, and if so, I understand. Just thought I'd put the request out there! Thank you.
