Re: TW tags and bad language: A Discussion
We've kind of been down this road before, and it led to us confirming our stance that this is a 101-space, not a safe space. People are here to get help and support for their problems - this is not a social justice board and we don't expect everybody to be up to date on all the latest social justice...

Re: TW tags and bad language: A Discussion
Eglantine, we tend to steer clear of PMs as we like to keep our modding public and transparent. A PM and a post is also extra work. We could just post in the thread asking the user to change it? It does mean it could stay there quite a long time until the user logs back in, though. I like what peopl...

Re: TW tags and bad language: A Discussion
Talking just on my own behalf! I think my intention is also to always post and explain why. But, sometimes, I've probably been lazy and just added the TWs with the assumption that the user will see that they used inappropriate language and do better in future. I see now that that can convey complete...

Re: can I change my name?
Tada :) Please could you add a note in your signature stating that you used to be peregrin8? Just leave it up there for a week or so until everyone's got used to it.

Re: Can we have a place to talk about activism?
Thanks for the hint, CodaSammy. I hope I didn't sound impatient, I just wasn't sure how this works yet. It's fine, you didn't do anything wrong! We have been talking about this but forgot to tell y'all that we were doing that, oops, so it looked like we were ignoring it. That's our fault, not yours.

Re: Can we have a place to talk about activism?
Okay, cool... am I suppossed to do anything to get this going or do we just wait until a mod sees this thread? We usually check the Suggestion Box pretty regularly, but if you're ever feeling like you need something to happen quicker, press the little triangle ! button to flag the post for attentio...

Re: Moderater forum suggestion
Ooh, OK, knowing it's possible is helpful! The main thing is whether the other forums are run on phpBB, but I don't know whether that information is easy to find.

Re: Moderater forum suggestion
I like it, but as far as I'm aware it's not possible. I'll look around, though. Other possible solutions to the same problem - report a random post, and just say in the description what you're contacting us for and how it has nothing to do with the post. Clunky, but it would work! I'd really like a ...

Re: Abbreviations in Trigger Warnings?
Kathlynn, I personally would be ok with that as long as it was done in each post, not just once at the start of a thread. Others may have different feelings about it though.

Re: Discussion for the New Policies-post
This is a discussion thread so I think a brief sidetrack onto "spoons" is fine without being a derail :) You're right, Kaz, and I have heard this criticism of the phrase before, so I try not to use it for myself. I wrote that particular paragraph, and I was thinking of someone who was disabled and u...
