Re: Accessibility question

I'm sorry if this is, like, so obvious as to be insulting and useless, but are you able to 'zoom in' to (effectively) increase the text size while scrolling horizontally? And are you using the mobile version of the site?

Re: Trigger warnings: a how to guide

I've been thinking about this old comment of mine and the trigger warning therein . I spent at least an hour trying to get it perfect, not sure how to phrase it so that it was both an adequate warning but without getting into so much detail that it spoiled what little story there is in the game. I d...

Re: is it okay to use diminutives when referring to oneself?

Thank you for your response. I see that my male socialization (I'm closeted trans-wise IRL) has caused me to act with a sense of entitlement that is harmful to others. I have decided not to put anything in that section. Thank you for your time. Sorry to have been a jerkface.

is it okay to use diminutives when referring to oneself?

I presently have my gender listed as "butchy trans-woman". I would rather have it listed as "butchy trans-girl", but I'm aware that "girl" is sexist when referring to an adult, which I am, and I don't want to be offensive. What are the forum rules about this sort of self-identification? Tw added by ...

Re: suggestion to change triggery subforum title

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I'm finding that "I need help!" spurs a similar reaction in me, and also that it might imply a level of help that an internet forum isn't necessarily equipped to give, which perhaps encourages some people (including myself, in the past) to post things that might b...

Re: Help us compile a master post on ablism

You know what, Goatlady? I agree with you. Your anger is valid. Your opinion is valid and true and a correct response to what I wrote. I'm sorry. I have added a trigger warning to that section. Did you see anything else that needs a trigger warning? The mods are free to dismiss the whole thing, dism...

Re: Help us compile a master post on ablism

I don't have any links to contribute because (perhaps arrogantly) I feel like I've got a pretty good handle on the issue by virtue of being victimized by it, so I don't actually read much disability stuff, and I vehemently disagree with at least one core precept that I've seen offered by pretty much...

Re: Reclaiming slurs

I've called myself [tw: ableist slur] a retard a couple of times around here and no one has said anything to me about it, presumably because I put it behind a trigger warning to begin with, so it seems like the implicit rule (which, yes, could do with being made explicit) is that it's okay to slur o...

Re: I have a question (about pronouns)...

Thanks everyone. I'm feeling pretty good about this, at the moment. I was even feeling bold enough to use my signature to request that people refer to me using a name that I think of as female (though Wikipedia tells me that it's technically unisex).

I'm happy :)

Re: I have a question (about pronouns)...

Okay, thanks. I have many brain weasels about this but little steps will probably help, thanks.
