Re: Please add instructions on how to add TW tags
There's a thread in Administrivia about tw tags, which is the thread referenced in the FAQ. In the most recent post in that thread, we described two different ways to apply tw tags. You can read that post here: http://friendsofcaptainawkward.com/foru ... 30#p218415

Re: how long are locked posts typically locked?
How long a thread remains locked depends on a number of things. Why did we lock it? What do we have to do before we can unlock it, and how long do those prereqs take? What else is going on that we are also dealing with? Are any mods who really need to be involved away for the weekend? There are plen...

Re: Trigger warnings: a how to guide
The syntax you are using is not quite correct. You can see this by looking at your post and seeing that the tw is not covering your examples. The easiest way to apply tw tags is to type the words you want to cover. Then select them, and while they are selected, click the tw button above the text box...

Rule clarification
Rule 8.1 is about respecting the privacy of others. Due to several incidents over the last few months, we have added a paragraph to the rule to make explicit that this is a closed community. People post here in the full expectation that they are addressing other members of the community. It is criti...

Re: New moderators!
FOCA members with eagle eyes may have noticed that marmoset and MianaAncrath have had their names turn from blue to red. This means that they have agreed to become permanent members of the admod squad. The other members of the admod team delighted that they are willing to spend the time and effort a...

Jargon and moderation
((Mod hat still on)) Grangiest, your post asking about a mod note addressed to another user in that other user's thread is a derail. It did not move the discussion of that user's problem forward at all. Derailing is against our rules, and so is posting issues with moderation in a forum-wide way. See...

Jargon and moderation
((Mod hat on)) I posted a moderation note in this thread: http://friendsofcaptainawkward.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=12980 Grangiest answered me and started a sub-discussion. I have moved the sub discussion here so we can respond without derailing daisybelle1984's thread any further. Here is a co...
