Re: observation on ballad threads
Maybe it would help to have separate areas for ballad threads (a choir section? :P) vs the short specific help threads? Might make the longer term threads easier to follow, since you'd know they're about the OP rather than a specific issue. Maybe a short summary in the first ballad post of the major...

Re: TW tags and bad language: A Discussion
That's exactly what I was trying to get at, thank you. :) In case rambling more helps, the way I see it, people who use ~ist language generally fall into one of three groups: 1) those who know but want to use/ don't care about the harmful nuances against others, 2) those unaware of the harmful nuanc...

Re: TW tags and bad language: A Discussion
^that was the exact line I found so deeply problematic as well. Susannah, thank you for providing an example of precisely the kind of snap-judgey behaviour I was wary about. You don't know what I think about ableist language, and that sort of assumption that only a Person-Like-X could possibly hold ...

I would not personally make the leap from "person used ableist language" to "person has unconsciously betrayed their totes ableist secret thoughts and unconscious values" based on one usage in passing. Over time, yeah sure. But since not everyone has spent time examining the etymology of abilit...

boards visible while logged out
Hello, I just noticed there that I could read the introductory posts in the Welcome subforum (among others) even though my phone had logged me out, has it always been like this? And would it be possible to make them invisible to non-users? I'm not sure exactly what the correct terminology is ^^' Tha...
